Historic Performance by Jazz Ensemble

For the first time since it was founded in 1999, the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival featured Columbus Academy musicians on September 19.

Our 26-member Jazz Ensemble, consisting of students in grades 8-12, performed the opening set on the event's final day in front of an enthusiastic and appreciative crowd.

Our students were joined on stage by professional musicians Eddie Bayard and Milo Mannino, who are both close friends of band director Jessica Sneeringer.

Academy Art Teacher Selected for Leadership Program

Pedro Mena, who has been teaching art classes to Columbus Academy middle-schoolers since 2016, is the only educator among 78 professionals from 70 different Central Ohio organizations selected for the Leadership Columbus Signature Program this year.

Together Again for 2021-22 School Year

Columbus Academy welcomed back students and families to its 231-acre campus on August 23 to begin the 2021-22 school year. That morning, students in grades 6-12 arrived for start-of-school activites, including Unity Day for the entire Class of 2025 (view freshman advisories). The afternoon ended with lower school families exploring classrooms, meeting teachers and enjoying an ice cream social.

108 Academy Students Named 2021 AP Scholars

Last spring, Columbus Academy upper-schoolers took 500 Advanced Placement (AP) exams, the highest number in school history.
