Bob Kirk ’67, a faculty member at Columbus Academy since 1975 who recently retired after 43 years of coaching our track and field program, has been honored with the 2017 Lou Berliner Memorial Award for his lifetime contributions to high school athletics.
Under Kirk’s guidance, Academy won four team state titles (1977, 1981, 2012, 2013) and were state runners-up four times (1980, 1982, 1996, 2016). He also coached 21 individual state champions and his squads won nine regional, 23 district and 17 league titles.
