Joel Zalesky began his first year teaching PE in the middle school at Columbus Academy at the start of the 2023-24 school year. He is also an assistant coach for our varsity field hockey and girls lacrosse teams. Joel previously was a substitute PE teacher on campus during the 2022-23 school year. He came to Academy after time spent at Denison University as an assistant coach for the men's lacrosse team, where he was a two-time member of the Regional Coaching Staff of the Year, and a PE teacher. Joel was a standout first team All-American at Seton Hill University where he earned a B.A. in business with a concentration in entrepreneurship. He then played Major League Lacrosse for three different teams, including the Ohio Machine, before time spent in the National Lacrosse League and North American Lacrosse League. Joel and his wife Tyne have two daughters Thatcher and Frankie.
