Freda Eden joined the Columbus Academy faculty in 2007 and currently teaches Spanish in the Upper School. She also is the world languages curriculum coordinator, student council advisor, and assists our theatre program with hair and makeup. In March of 2020, Freda was awarded a scholarship to study K’iche, a Mayan language, in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, at the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. Prior to Academy, she was a Spanish lecturer for 10 years at The Ohio State University. Freda earned her B.A. in Spanish from the University of Iowa. She and her husband Joseph have a son, Tommy, and a newborn daughter, Sunny. Besides teaching and mom life, Freda loves to watch sports, especially baseball. In addition, she is an adventurous cook and eater, with a cookbook collection numbering north of 200 and a foodie Instagram: @msedencooks.
