Amy Berkley began her new role as dean of students for middle school at the start of the 2023-24 school year, this after having taught full-time in the upper school at Columbus Academy since 2018. She originally served as a long-term substitute on campus in August 2017 and taught history throughout her time in upper school. Amy graduated from Otterbein University with a B.A. in history and art and obtained a M.L.A. from Harvard University Extension School, where she also earned the Harvard Extension School Dean's List Academic Achievement Award. In 2021, Amy completed the Harvard Business School and Harvard School of Education’s joint certificate program in School Management and Leadership. She is currently enrolled in the Dean of Students Cohort program through CSEE, and is a member of the planning committee for the 2025 CSEE Dean of Students Summit. Before coming to Academy, she taught at Liberty Christian Academy in Pataskala and Madison Christian School in Groveport. She has had the opportunity to travel to both Cairo and Italy on archeological digs. Amy and her husband, James have three children: Benjamin '32, Annabella '35 and little Matthew. They enjoy hiking, playing outside, and tending to their small hobby farm.
