LS Astronomy

The Lower School astronomy club is one of many extracurricular activities at Academy.

ACADEMIC AND CURRICULAR EXCELLENCE

ATHLETICS AND ARTS SUCCESS

  • 24 team State Championships in baseball, field hockey, football, boys golf, girls lacrosse, boys soccer, boys tennis, boys track and girls tennis
  • 25 team State Runners-Up in baseball, boys basketball, field hockey, boys golf, girls lacrosse, boys tennis, girls tennis and boys track
  • Numerous individual State Championships achieved in boys golf, boys and girls swimming, boys and girls tennis, boys track and wrestling
  • Multiple students have had works selected for the Governor's Art Show and Exhibition, and many have also earned high ratings in OMEA Solo and Ensemble contests

GIFT SUPPORT AND PHILANTHROPY

  • Income from unrestricted Annual Fund gifts covered over 6% of the school's operating budget and expenses. Last year, $1.365 million was contributed by trustees, parents, alumni, grandparents, former parents, faculty/staff and friends
  • $17.5 million was raised in gifts and pledges from the Advancing the Quest capital campaign, exceeding its goal in 2005 allowing for new facilities and an increased endowment
  • $197,795 was raised from fundraising initiatives by the Parents' Association of Columbus Academy (PACA)
